If I don=E2=80=99t repeat a subject phrase used for two verbs, I much =
prefer Hegh =E2=80=98ej rIQ SuvwI=E2=80=99pu=E2=80=99 law=E2=80=99. =
Interesting that it=E2=80=99s =E2=80=98ej not qoj or pagh there.

=20

Here there=E2=80=99s another possible subject for Hegh, the =
qarDaSnganpu=E2=80=99, so stating the subject right away is useful.

=20

Saying Hegh SuvwI=E2=80=99pu=E2=80=99 law=E2=80=99 =E2=80=98ej rIQ gives =
me a moment of rIQ =E2=80=98Iv? so I prefer it repeated there.

=20

It=E2=80=99s kind of the difference between =E2=80=9CMany people were =
killed and injured=E2=80=9D and =E2=80=9CMany people were killed and =
they were injured.=E2=80=9D You=E2=80=99re left going =E2=80=9Cokay, I =
guess the antecedent of =E2=80=98they=E2=80=99 is many people, but why =
not put the two verbs together?=E2=80=9D

=20

- Qov.

BTW notice the repetition of the subject phrase {SuvwI'pu' law'} "many =
warriors" in the main clause(s).

=20

I've been working on a sort of essay, and I've not been been repeating =
subject phrases like that. So I'm hoping for some discussion. What do =
people think of:

=20

1. (?) Hegh SuvwI'pu'lI' law' 'ej riQ.

-- vs. --

2. Hegh SuvwI'pu'lI' law' 'ej rIQ SuvwI'pu'lI' law'.

=20

Is Sentence 1 unclear? Just bad Klingon? Or is Sentence 2 just an extra =
precise version of Sentence 2?
