Ten days ago I started posting a serialized story that I said was in
ten parts. There were ten parts, but not anymore. I finished writing
the first draft of 'ay' wejmaH wej last night, and I still haven't
reached the scene with which I intended to *begin* 'ay''a' wej. Here
begins 'ay''a' cha' the second volume of the story. Now the vaguely
inspecific aliens take centre stage, so I had to name them. What's
SuD and has a smooth forehead and practices interstellar commerce?
Hmm. Maybe this way I can bust up some Orion stereotypes. Nah, I'm
thinking of them as more na'vI'-coloured than Orion-coloured. Their
skin is quite light. But they aren't supertall tree-worshippers
either. I called them yIngIghnganpu' for a while, but then changed it
a couple of times and finally called on you to name them. ghunchu'wI'
has kindly dubbed them Yelwiet (yelwIyyIt) and their language is yel Hol.
It starts by retelling one of the scenes from the previous story,
from the point of view of a different bridge.
