They contain the PUA glyphs and the ASCII space and that is all. If  
that causes difficulty, free glyphs could be put in for the ASCII  
characters.

Actually I believe there is a string for "display" that can be used  
for instance to show Devanagari characters rather than Latin ones in a  
Devanagari font. I'll check.
