Don't dismiss "just cultural notes" as these sometimes give useful clues,
particularly when combined with other information. Refilling the Chalice
of Kahless - {qeylIS HIvje'}? - every 9 days may be evidence of a nine-day
Klingon week {Hogh}, or at least of an older ritual week. We can now add
this datum to what little we already know about the Klingon calendar {'ISjaH}:
1) {QI'lop}, the holiday honoring the Klingon military, occurs in the tenth
Klingon month (PK)
2) Alexander was born on the 43rd day of Maktag (TNG "New Ground")
3) Worf said that the IKV Rotarran's mission began on the 53rd day of the
year of Kahless 999 (DS9 "Soldiers of the Empire")
4) Kohlar asked the pregnant B'Elanna, "Did you conceive during the holy
month of Nay'Poq?" (VOY "Prophecy")
