It has been noted that tlhIngan Hol seems to lack any good way of
saying "as if".
It seems to me that the verb Da -"be have as/ act in the manner of"
can function in this way.
Example:
"The stranger walks in my heart as if it were his own."
tIqwIj ghajbogh Da tIqwIjDaq yIt nov
"He writes threateningly."
buQghach Da ghItlhDaj
"He always talks like a spaceman."
reH logh loD ghaH Da jatlh ghaH
"You talk as if I wanted it."
DaneH 'e' Da Dochmey Dajatlhbogh bIH
I welcome any corrections on these points.
Also If ANYONE sincerely wishes to teach tlhIngan Hol in a classroom
setting I am willing to let them use the Complete version of the Klingon
Postal Course. This includes all 11 lessons and the answer sheets.
You must show a SINCERE interest in teaching the language and send me
enough postage for 4 oz. of mailed material.
My address is Klingon Language Course. PO BOX 37, Eagle ID 83616
