I'm not sure if this got to the list (I think I mistakenly sent it to the wrong
address). If it did, please ignore this repost.
In response to the recent controversy about case (typographical, not
grammatical) in Hebrew and Klingon, I _have_ seen, believe it or not, a Hebrew
font (Caslon Hebrew; I think it's based on Caslon [Roman]) with distinct upper
and lower case! It's the ugliest thing you ever saw and looks different enough
from conventional Hebrew fonts that if I came across it without knowing what it
was, Hebrew would be the last thing to cross my mind: it looks like a demented
vision of Cyrillic or (for those who remember the Hitchhiker's Guide text
adventure) the Vogon Order for Destruction. Those who want a sample of this
font can send me a SASE (if you have a fax, you may prefer to email me your fax
number, though my fax access is limited, so the SASE method would be safer) at
either of these addresses (the one on the left is only good until about 12 May
1993, though):
