actually, RE: discussion on English

There was a wonderful PBS series about this subject, called,
(oddly enough) "The History of English".  More info than you
could shake a stick at, plus the stick.  Also had a companion
book, probably available at Waldenbooks and B. Daltons everywhere.

hmmm.... thats an interesting phrase....
   "... more than you could shake a stick at, plus the stick."

"Spock, how .....many Klingons ARE there guarding......this planet?"
"Well, Captain, more than you (etc, etc)"

Anyone care to translate this one?  I'm no tthat good yet, and after a few
minutes of thought on it, it looks like a bear.  Prove me wrong, anyone?
