Actually Arabic DOES have a verb =E2=80=9Cto be=E2=80=9D; it=E2=80=99s just n=
ot used as a copula in the present tense. (It also has a different and very i=
nteresting verb-like particle used as a negative copula.) I=E2=80=99m very r=
usty in Arabic so I=E2=80=99m not going to embarrass myself by attempting a t=
ranslation of =E2=80=9Cwhy do I need to be there=E2=80=9D in Arabic, but I d=
on=E2=80=99t really believe the =E2=80=9Cto be=E2=80=9D in this English sent=
ence truly means =E2=80=9Cto be=E2=80=9D in an existential or identity sense=
.

Usually when we use pronouns as copulas in Klingon for =E2=80=9Cto be=E2=80=9D=
sentences, we=E2=80=99re really talking about identity (tlhIngan maH; raS '=
oH; HoD ghaH; yIH bIH), which is not the case in this sentence. =E2=80=9CWhy=
do I need to be there=E2=80=9D is really asking why my presence is required=
, which is why in my Klingon suggestions I used jISaHnIS and vIpoQlu'.=
