I agree that a shape book would be an excellent idea. Also fun would be a
counting book, a body parts book, and an animals book. (These would also
be good low-hanging fruit, as they would mainly require illustrations or
photos of concrete objects, rather than significant creative
storywriting). Another standard sort of picture book is colors, but that
would be pretty silly in Klingon :) I have most of the text of an original
storybook picture book (with some attempt to be "culturally authentic"),
but no illustrations.
Translations of existing picture books wouldn't work for publication, but
would be excellent for inclusion in an online archive.
Are there any plans for the new website to have pages with clustered vocab,
perhaps with some sort of illustration? (for example, body parts, shapes,
family terminology, etc.)? I think that would be a useful reference tool,
and would also be excellent projects for relatively new speakers.
