No.  You have to read the scripts and see if there is an uninstall method.
If not, you have to figure out what the script did, and undo it.
Where things went may also depend on where you were when
you untarred.

In the case of the Netscape Communicator and Navigator tar.gz installs,
it is easy, because they are nicely designed.  Just remove one
directory tree, and its gone.


This is one reason RPMs are so great.  They always have

an uninstall method.

Its worse with Windows.  Look for an uninstall icon,

otherwise start removing stuff and pray.  Try

uninstalling Internet Explorer or Office

and you will see how bad it can get.
