Yikes!  Are you serious, man?  If you do, it's no longer an upgrade, but
a fresh install.  Say goodbye to your data, settings, tweaks, the works.

No, it will not be overwritten.  Certain files will be overwritten, but the
originals will be backed up using the rpm.save extension.  (Haven't 
looked in a while, and I'm not sure if it's rpm-save or what, but it's 
obvious when you see it.)

They will be preserved, or the old file saved.  It's very easy to compare 
and change anything you need to change back.
