RH 5.2 - Some Probs/Questions

I just installed RH 5.2 on a new machine (not an upgrade) and noticed two
things immediately. I've not changed anything on the system after the
installation and...
1. "df" core dumps
2. "mount -t iso9660 /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom" returns the following message:
fs type iso9660 not supported by kernel
