I believe this card is based on the Tulip chipset (at least that's what
it says when I boot my machine). It is recognized by RH5.1 out of the
box -- loaded into the kernel as a module.
If you've recompiled your kernel without modular support for this card
you will have to recompile your kernel (again) to setup support for the
card.
If you have not recompiled your kernel and are running the stock 5.1 (5.0?)
kernel that comes with the distribution (otherwise known as the kitchen
sink kernel) try rmmod'ing any existing NIC drivers and then insmod'ing
the module for the DFE530.
Hope this helps,
Blair.
