I just updated the boot.img/supp.img in ftp.redhat.com:/ewt to support
upgrades from a partition that's in your fstab and installs and upgrades
from hard drives where the RedHat tree is in an aribitrary directory.
If you're having trouble with a hard drive install, please give these a
spin. These disks also have the changes for ftp proxies and non-anoynmous
ftp installs included.
