Lilo doesn't want to install

I am installing RedHat 4.0 that I ftp'd down from the redhat sight. I can
run through the install program, getting the files from an FTP server on my
local lan.
It works great until it wants to load lilo. I cannot get it to load on the
MBR, the first drive, or even a floppy. It just gives me the standard
error message that it cannot load lilo on that device, and I can choose
PREVIOUS, RETRY or MENU. I can't get passed it.!!!!!
My machine is a Dell 486/50 with two IDE Drives ( 2gig and 80meg). I know
that lilo has problems with large IDE drives, and that is the reason for
the 80 meg set up as /dev/hda.
Does anyone have any tips or answers???
