Get the Netscape-supported Communicator 4.5 directly from Netscape.
It comes as a tar.gz file, but is easy to install and easy to remove,
since it populates only one directory and its subdirectories.

Just unpack it in an empty dir, and check the readme files.
You might want to uninstall your current Netscape first.
Your preferences will be safe in your $HOME/.netscape directory.

It gives me no problems, and I use it constantly.
