I understand your concern, but you (and others) really **really** should
read the GNU public license that RedHat is bound to, no more or less than
Debian or anyone else. If they don't offer it for free, they don't get to
call it Linux...period. Besides which, after seeing the stink that people
here raise for anyone wanting to not release the source codes, etc., do you
really think that they'd stay in business 1 year if they didn't offer it for
free downloads and provide the source? <G>
Finally, you're forgetting one very important thing: with Windows putting
it's OS on different platforms, or even looking into other options, Intel
has the same reason to be concerned that Netscape does. Simply put:
they're hedging their bets. The fact that the Linux crowd seems to be the
most rabidly anti-Microsoft group in existance means that they
(Intel/Netscape) have life long allies if they invest in our future. "The
enemy of my enemy is my friend", I suppose.
