I've got the exact same thing. I haven't done much work on it after the
first 2 or 3 times, but nothing seems to help. I can telnet in and
shutdown the system cleanly, and everything comes back okay, but
attempting the install completely freezes the console. I even tried
killing processes one by one remotely and resetting the ttys, but it
didn't help. I'm running on a Redhat.50 system recently upgraded to 5.1,
maybe I'll try 5.2 now that I've got a CD burnt.
