Hello: The U.S Robotics Sporster Si is listed as a winmodem and the 
documentation says that it requires a WINRPI windows drivers 
(compression data software blah blah blah) which is not true, i`m 
running this modem under linux and it works perfectly. Josè you`re 
always right thank you so much for all you have done for me :o) 
My father`s modem is not working yet but remember the old modem ... well 
i disabled the com 2 as you said and i changed the pins (COM2 IRQ3) and 
it works correctly under linux now.
