If it is currently set (in, say, ~/.bash_profile) to "/usr/my_libs", add
the new dir's name after a colon (e.g.,
"/usr/my_libs:/usr/my_new_directory"). Obviously, don't use quotes in
either case. Or to do it on the fly, you might try <export
LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/usr/my_libs:/usr/my_new_dir"> (use quotes in this
case). Syntax may vary, based upon your shell choice.
