I don't know about using printtool for X, but I do know how to set up
lpd to print to all three ports.

Take a look at the HP document named "HP JetDirect Print Servers -
How to Install and Configure LPD Software as an Alternative to HP
JetAdmin" found at:
<http://www.hp.com/cposupport/networking/support_doc/bpj02836.html>

Thi information on configuring print queues for BSD-based systems is
directly applicable to Linux. I've used it a number of times (and in
fact also used this info on a couple of Solaris systems also). With
most printers you will want to use the raw ports even for plain text
printers or you will get double spacing.

Hope this helps. One of these days if I get some time I think I will
take a shot at writing a faq for this. It isn't all that hard, but
finding the info on HP's web site is a royal pain.
