bru didn't seem to be creating multiple archives on a single tape for me so
I looked at their website <www.estinc.com> and found this paragraph in the
X11 manual.

"Linux Notes

There are a couple of known problems with some tape devices under Linux with
the 2.0.x series kernels. Specifically, the IDE/ATAPI tape driver has some
bugs in it that prevent multiple archives on a single tape being usable. If
you are using an IDE/ATAPI tape drive under with 2.0.x, please do not
attempt to write multiple archives to a tape. "

does anyone know if there are patched drivers that fix this? Incremental
backup are pretty much usesless without this feature.
