ethernet driver unloads itself??

hello,
when im working in my rh machine, my ethernet works fine. but when i leave
it alone for say 3-4 hours, it quits, and i cant telnet from home. when i
go back to work in the morning, and start up the networking thing from the
control panel, and make eth0 inactive and then active again, it starts
working.
any suggestions?
