I think you can use 'showrgb | less' to get a list. Also, either RH
powertools or contrib has a nice graphical utility called xcolorsel.
I think the fvwm2 man page tells you how to describe colors. If you use
hex notation I think you do it as e.g. #afdf42; no quotes are usually
needed.
