I think so. I have used Accel-X on both home and work
boxes and love it. There are only two problems with using
it over XFree86:
1) It costs.
2) Currently doesn't have a glibc version (see below).
As regards to 1) above, you do get what you pay for. It is a
good product and does seem to work considerably better than
XFree86. These are my opinions and should be weighed as such.

The installation is easy, but you need to be careful.
Install the regular XFree86 distribution as usual. Next
install the Accel-X server only (Do NOT install libs, etc).
You are asked which components you wish to install.
If you mess up, just reinstall everything from XFree86 (minus
the servers) and then simply relink the X command to Xaccel
command as follows...
ln -s /usr/X11R6/bin/Xaccel /usr/X11R6/bin/X
This is a rather brief summary of what you need to do. Please

section for more details.
