There should definitely be an increase in speed. I've been using AccelX for
a few years now, with an ATI Graphics Expression (2mb ISA) card and it
works quite nicely. I had lots of trouble trying the stock X server, and
couldn't get it to work with the card in accelerated mode, so I can't
readily give a feel for the difference in speed.

Extremely easy. No need to fiddle around with configuration files, just choose
your video card and monitor and off you go. It's not really required to remove
other X11 RPMs, but you do need to make sure that the link to X points to the
AccelX binary and not the XFree server binary. And of course, since you're not
going to use those other servers, you might as well erase them and use the
disk space for other things :).
