Darren... are you a subscriber to the xfce list?  We could use you
over there if you're not.  I host it and I absolutely agree with you
that XFce is outstanding.  If you were unaware, Olivier just released
a new version.  Check it out at http://www.xfce.org.
For the original questioner I'll just say that AfterStep is good, KDE
is good, GNOME is coming along but all of them have their
individual quirks but share one thing in common... they're resource
hogs and THAT IS WHY I use XFce!!
