I don't know why it's four, but I know it's the same for Jazz drives.
Seems to be an Iomega thing.

It seems to me you can delete this partition and recreate the
partition scheme on Jazz drives to whatever you want (/dev/sda[1-4]).
I would assume the same would be true of Zips.
