I hope shortly to obtain a Sparc IPX which I hope to install with Redhat
Linux, probably 5.2 as it's coming out soon.

Has anyone had experience with 5.x on a Sparc IPX so I can compare it with
an 5.x on Intel?

The Sparc comes with 32MB of RAM, plus a small 300MB SCSI drive.

I know it won't be that fast, but am interested in comparing it to the
Intel 486/80 with SCSI disk I currently use. I'm not currently subscribed
to the sparc-list@redhat.com so if anyone is on both lists and can
comment, I'd be interested in knowing what to expect.

Also will I be subject to the Sparc "slowdowns" that some of the older
sparcs suffer.

Thanks for any comments,

Simon
