I don't know diddly 'bout AfterStep (we run KDE), but personally, the first
thing I'd do is check to see if the file exists, and then do an "ls -l
<filename>" to check permissions. It's kind of my way of ruling out
obvious system whining like "can't open"....
Hope I didn't offend you in any way with my simplistic response. If I did,
my sincere apologies.
