I hope someone on this list can help me debug my problem.
I'm not sure if it's an apache config problem or a redhat config
problem, and can't seem to find any clues as to which it is. If there
is an apache list somewhere I will gladly forward this question on but I
could not find one out there.

I have a webserver running 5.1 and apache 1.3.1. Everything seemed
to be working fine since the server was installed several months
ago, but in the last week the httpd child processes will all die at
random times and I will only be left with the 1 httpd parent process
owned be root, not by the web server user. Therefore no pages are
getting served. I turned on debugging in apache, and tryed to enable
logging for all levels related to daemons, users, etc. but am not
seeing
anything to clue me in as to what is happening.

Any help with either gathering more information from my machine or
solving this problem will be GREATLY appreciated! Also, if there is an
apache mailing list I could join let me know.

Thanks in advance.
Sara
