Bind 8 in rpm form has been out a long time.  I run it here on
my Nook Net DNS server with RedHat 4.2.  It dates back to Oct
10/97-
over a year ago- although there has been a couple security updates
since.

My take on Bind 8 is this: if you do not need the features of bind
8,
be aware it is a lot harder to configure, and a lot harder to
figure
out than bind 4.  I am not particularly enamored of it, and may
revert to bind 4 here if I keep running into snags.  Mind you, the
snags are all in my brain, not on bind 8.... but its MY brain!
Can't get rid of the brain, so get rid of bind 8.  Capisco?
