In 5.1 you need to put the whole sha-bang to mount the floppy.....
mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy (or leave the -t msdos out if it's
a Linux disk...)
What errors are you getting when you try?? What do your fstab and
mtab files look like??
What command are you using to mount your disk??
