*** KDE or XFCE2 are "layers" on top of your Linux allowing you to have a
GUI. See it like DOS and Windows. DOS runs the computer and Windows blocks
it ;-)...eeer...gives you icons and buttons to click on. Sometimes it's
the only way to run specific progs like ApplixWare (spreadsheet, text
processor...), GIMP, etc...
