Hi there from England,
You can get the LANs set up, but not exactly as you write. Thats why
I am getting back to you quickly.
You need to have the networks in multiples of 2, so you cannot split
in groups of 20. Use 32 instead, and your groups will be like this -
0 to 31, 32 to 63, 64 to 95, 96 to 127 and your network mask will be
255.255.255.224
Then you could set up a series of ppp interfaces to handle the
dial-up links. Define one IP address in each group as the router and
set the ppp interfaces of the routers on each lan to have the phone
number and ip address of the other routers.
Note that you are using a 'reserved' range of IP addresses and so the
main router to the internet will need to have address
translation/masquerading to use 'real' addresses to the rest of the
internet.
As for modem handling, I guess you should look at a device like those
made by Digi (digiboards have 4, 8 or 16 serial ports on one card).
