There is effectively nothing to patch...
If you've loaded the SCSI modules at boot time (initrd?) the CD-Writer
should appear as a CD-ROM.
It is up to the software to command the CD-writer to undertake write
operations...
You might want to check out the cd-writing how-tos in the docs directory
which explains all of this...
