Hi everyone,
I'd like to know if anyone can explain this for me.
I have a valid hostname and ip for www.sspl.net.au in my own DNS
(it's not a fqdn). Pinging either the ip or name gets a return.
I have my apache server running and configured for
www.sspl.net.au. When ever I wish to connect to it from within my
LAN on a 95 Machine I have to enter 'www' only, and it connects. If
I enter www.sspl.net.au, it fails.
Now when doing this from the p200 running linux, it connects fine
to www.sspl.net.au.
My question is, why is the 95 (explorer) not connecting to
www.sspl.net.au when the linux box does.
I have the proxy settings setup so that it doesn't try to use a proxy
for anything in the lan.
Thanks in advance,
Pete
