Hi

When using NIS under RH51 I can't specify '+login' and so on in
/etc/passwd,
but already ALL accounts are available for login. I can't even specify in
/etc/security/access.conf (not even for local accounts) if they are
allowed to login or not. The only thing I can do is disable NIS at all (by
editing pwdb.conf...) but that's of course not what I want.

How can I specify which users are allowed to login via nis and which are
not? And how can I give them another shell if I want? (Since it's not
possible with +login::::::/different/shell ...)

Paul

P.S. Why isn't the /etc/passwd shadow?

P.P.S. I'm using RH51 for Alpha
