I just installed RedHat 5.1 and set up ppp just as it said in the book. It took a little configuration for it to recognize the messages coming back from the connection, but I finally got it to connect.
The problem is that as soon as it connects I get the following messages in the /var/log/messages file:
Serial connection established
timeout set to 5 seconds
Using interface ppp0
Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/modem
Serial line is looped back.
Connection termindate.
Exit.
And the connection breaks. Anybody know what is going on? Any help?
