A better plan would be to convince RedHat (or someone with a permanent
connection) to implement a real bulletin board. I constantly use on in England
for old cars. See <www.ipl.co.uk/cgi-bin/forum18/MG/sublist.html> for an idea
of how one should operate. Everyone can search for items they want, and this
constant stream of hundreds of e-mails a day, of which each individual has
interest in only a few, would be eliminated. That particular board has a
feature that lets you subscribe by e-mail if you desire.
I have only been registered on the mail list for a week, mostly because I
bought three alphas and also upgraded an IBM box to 5.1 t that time. In that
time, I feel like I have read a question about glint not working, why does
telnet take 5 minutes to load and why can I not telnet in as root at least
three times per day. The sheer effort of handling this volume of mail is
stifling. As RedHat grows, this system will have to collapse under its own
weight.
Any thoughts on this from anyone?
