I have restarted sendmail... well... both for a couple of times. Is there
anything I missed in the whole setup? Perhaps I have done something extra
which doesn't need to be there?
Please help! This has been bugging me for days... I need some rest real
soon.. :-)

looks like you forgot to restart sendmail... you need to restart
sendmail after changes to any of non-database format configuration
files...
