That's what I thought I'd read somewhere, but here's a transcript of an
ncftp session conducted with RedHat's ftp server moments ago:
> pwd
Current remote directory: /pub/rawhide
> ls
README SRPMS/ alpha/ i386/ sparc/
> get i386.tar.gz
i386.tar.gz: No such file or directory.
Issuine the "tar" command brings a similar response, and this is
independent of the client I use or the site I contact (sunsite, for
example, _does_ have a tar binary in their ftp site's /bin directory,
and I'm pretty sure redhat does too).
