So where were you when you wrote this? I am about 140 miles from
home and I'm not sending this from a laptop using a pretty GUI email
program. I was polite when I asked people to "please" turn off the
vcards. They are a waste. A signature does just fine and it doesn't
show up as an attachment. Notice that I didn't bark about HTML! I
use Pine 4.05 and it can read that (though I think that HTML
needlessly bloats email size). So I guess we need HTML to be able to
communicate effectively, we need signatures, and we need vCards
'cause heaven knows someone might miss the signature file so let's
annoy them with one more needless piece of crap taking up space on
their harddrive! Christ on a crutch!! How does it advance our
ability to communicate? And yes... I can and do delete it rather
than complain but I thought it might be okay to "ask", just to ask,
mind you for some consideration on this issue. If it were truly a
genuine advancement of the medium I'd be behind it but it's not,
.sig's have worked just fine and they always will, we don't need
both!
