List,

Hey everyone!! I have a quick question that is really simple, but
my brain seems to have quit functioning while thinking about it. :-) I
just put a fresh install of RH 5.1 on a Pent Pro 200 with 128 megs in it
(which is a screamer, I just have to add) and I'm using the AfterStep
desktop theme. I set everything up on the box and rebooted it to get
all the menu options loaded up right. I went to the menu to select a
screen saver with a password, and it seemed happy, but when the screen
goes dark there is no "screen saver" or a password to get back in. I
did have one minor problem with my mouse, but I went to
/etc/rc.d/rc3.... and killed gpm with a "K" and that fixed it. What I
get when the screen blanks out is just that.....a blank screen......all
I have to do is bump the mouse and she fires right back up to the
desktop with no password. I get no screen saver, to speak of, or a
password for re-entry. ???? Any rec's?? Also, on a side note, when I
first set this box up, I kicked open a game of Galaga, and it ran just
fine.....mouse or keyboard mode.....now, when I play it, as soon as I
hit the fire button using the mouse, the game pulls a Houdini on me and
just disappears!! I also have an identical box like this at work, and
the same thing happens?!?!? I can't figure it out...... Both machines
are Compaq DeskPro 4000's. All else is flying like the wind !!! Thanks
in advance for any help!!

John Pierce
