Well, I use pine and elm when I have the option to do so. I also use
Outlook and a couple of other readers that handle HTML and the v-card
crap. And I see more useful information passed as plain ascii text
than I do as HTML. HTML (or rtf or whatever) are nothing but wasteful.
I have yet to see email or usenet news that is in any way enhanced by
the use of it. For that matter, I have yet to see any business email
that is enhanced with it. BUT--I have seen a 186 Megabyte MSexchange
mailbox reduced to 35k of text and 30 Megabytes of attachments (mostly
Excel spreadsheets) with NO loss of content (my boss didn't even know
I did it to him).

Even my 11 year old daughter can see that this is unnecessary. (When
she first got email, she did the typical kid thing and sent messages
with all of these enhancements--after getting a couple of replies in
the same style she quit doing it--said it was hard to read.
