Indeed. Port forwarding has its place.
I haven't read any of your previous posts; I've been futzing with port
forwarding off and on for a couple of weeks with mixed success, though
-- can you tell at what point your packets are being dropped? Do they
get to the :1000 interface and get dropped there? Or do they get in,
but not back out again? tcpdump can help you with this -- I think it
comes with Redhat.
