Problems with SMBFS

Hi
I have installed SMBFS on a Linux 4.2 that is gonna mount a share on a
NT4.0 with SP3.
But when i mount it keeps telling me unknown device.. does anyone know what
might be wrong?
Even smbclient cause me trouble.. it says unknown share there aswell.
Btw.. i did download it from the REDHAT-CONTRIB so its version 2.0.8
something...
so if anyone ever heard of this problem please let me know
