Hi all,

yesterday i freshly instaleld RedHat 4.0
When I was to install MetroX and asnwered YES to the question to install
MetroX it started configX but then the picture became black and stayed
that way although the system worked cause i could use the virtual screens.
Then i killed the X process and installation continued.

I had choosen some of the packages so i started Glint to install the rest.
I noticed that my system run much slower under X than my old Slackware
2.0.21 kernel. That is one problem. How can it be X with RedHat is so slow
? I run on a 486DX4 machine with 20Meg Ram and a 8 MB swapfile.
Then when i selected a lot of packages to install Glint showed the
statusscreen with the ???? for the time, then it filled the timevalues
and... exited!!. I could only get Glint to work by selecting only a small
subset of packages each time. Xpaint seemed to be a package which wasn't
installable by Glint.

After i had a fairly complete system it turned out that INND didn't want to
run. The errormessage is: ME cant GetConfigValue pathhost Connection
refused. I dont get this cause another machine at work didn't have problems
at all. However THAT machine is on a network, mine at home is not. Could
there be the problem ???

Then at the machine at work: named doesn't seem to accept _ (underscores)
in IN fields in de databasetables.... Our SCO5 doesn't have that problem.
Is this a known problem ???

Well that is my acquaintance with RedHat 4.0...

Anybody ANY tips ??? Please ???

Thanx

Ray
