Arrrgg, just booted Colgate for the first time in some weeks and got
the message 'unable to read superblock', 'trying to read off the end of the
device'. It tries ext2 and the minix and some other file systems. The culprit was, I
strongly suspect, the ext2-os2 port I use on OS/2 to mount Linux file partitions.
Curiously, this still can mount the partition perfectly well, it's Colgate that gets
confused.
Is there anyway I can get the superblock rebuilt? I never got ftape to drive my
Iomega so I don't have a backup :-(. Since I can actually read the partition from
OS/2 I could copy all the config files to HPFS, format/install Colgate and copy
them back! However, I would prefer to try and fix the partition.
Any and all help will be very gratefully received!!
Cheers,
Robin
