I thought I was being smart by buying the creme of the crop courier 33.6
modems to replace some of my sportsters. I set them up like the
manufacturer recommends (at&f&h2&i2&b1&k1&m4s2=255s0=1) with dip switch 3
and 8 on (I am running Picasso with a 2.0.14 kernel, latest ppp and
(yeah, shame on me, uugetty) running off a rocketport. I thought you could
hang these babies and walk away - not in my case, obviously. uucp
accounts now hang the modems when they disconnect (my uucp accounts NEVER
have given me a problem with connections in the past), customers are
having extreme difficulty connecting - what gives? Point me in the right
direction here because I really don't understand why this modem is not
working!!! (And I was so impressed that they actually listed Linux in
their documentation!). Thanks in advance.
Oh yeah, I thought I remembered the list saying something about dropping
DTR, but when I search the mailing lists, it says it finds it (4 hits)
but when I pull up the email it has nothing to do with what I was
searching on.
